Western cultures are socially and medically incorrect to encourage and enforce breasts as purely sexual objects. It's sexuality in part, but not exclusively, that engenders these uncomfortable feelings in mothers about the most natural and beneficial gift they can give." ~AmberSylvannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09928028663255268616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-688291830429158315.post-30519417579312741512010-06-27T21:24:20.499-07:002010-06-27T21:24:20.499-07:00The breastfeeding is important, no doubt, but even...The breastfeeding is important, no doubt, but even if this baby were formula fed, it makes me want to cry that the SS would think putting the baby in foster care was the better choice in this situation! This is why I insisted on pumping when my late preterm daughter was not latching well in the hospital, and why I supplemented with a friend's milk rather than introduce formula into her diet. Too bad I had the support of the lactation consultant to do this but had to keep it a secret from the other hospital staff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-688291830429158315.post-23676624221502679432010-06-27T15:53:17.527-07:002010-06-27T15:53:17.527-07:00I'd love to take the credit, but, seriously, m...I'd love to take the credit, but, seriously, most of that advocacy statement was copy and paste from wonderful, caring and brilliant mothers!
